Reopening Our Church – An Update
Press play to listen to the latest update from council!
Greetings FCC Friends!
As businesses and organizations begin to reopen, we are all anxious to return to in-person worship together. The purpose of this letter is to give you an update as to where we are in that process and what our next steps will be as we move toward our own reopening. Council is approaching this process with an abundance of caution, choosing to err on the side of safety over expediency. The good news is that activities and church functions typically slow down over the summer months, which will work in our advantage as we plan to reopen gradually. While we are not ready to reopen just yet, Council has been involved in the following to date:
- Awaiting guidance from the governor’s office regarding any further news on when we can reopen.
- Contacting Mayor Acri’s office to find out what may need to be done in accordance with the city of Moline’s policies and regulations.
- Receiving and processing guidance from the United Church of Christ.
- Formed and been in contact with the church’s committee known as the Science/Medical team to assist us in making appropriate decisions in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Council will be meeting this week to provide a clearer picture of the stages and sequencing we will follow along with possible date(s) for reopening. We are also hopeful to receive more detailed information from the state this week.
It is also important to note that we will continue to provide worship services through FCCLive! Please continue to join us on Facebook or YouTube! You can also access previous recordings of worship services on our webpage: www.fccmoline.org/fcclive
One of your council’s top priorities is to stay in good contact with church members. Please be assured we are doing everything possible, considering all the challenging circumstances involved. Feel free to contact either Audra or Wes should you have further questions.
