The Youth Group assisted at the monthly World Relief Food Pantry this week, serving over 40 refugee families! Wearing face masks and rubber gloves the youth took bags of food out to the waiting cars for the drive through delivery system.  Families received a mixture of culturally specific non-perishable and fresh foods, fish and meat, including vegetables from our own church garden!

This was the first large harvest from the community garden this year.  There was a good batch of cucumber and zucchini, and some hen’s egg eggplant.  The garden will become more productive in the next few weeks.  Altogether this was a wonderful expression of how we can participate together with partners as part of God’s mission.  Even the middle of this pandemic we can pull together to do something that is worthwhile.  Praise God.

Thank you to all who volunteered, grew food and gave money contributions to the World Relief food pantry.  FCC was able to sponsor the July Food Pantry with monetary funds, fresh produce, and volunteer power!  This was one of the first hands-on projects we have been able to participate in for quite some time.
