July Church Status
Press play to listen to the latest update from council
Dear FCC Members and Friends,
Our church council and staff have been working diligently on developing a plan for reopening the church building on a limited basis, which has included an ongoing analysis of the COVID data from Scott and Rock Island counties. While we had originally hoped to begin opening the building for worship in July, current trends regarding the coronavirus in the Quad City area have required us to revisit our plans. Due to these unfortunate trends, we have decided to continue to operate in July under our recently defined “Step One” process. This step includes the following:
- Limited in-person worship of 10 people maximum, paired with online worship
- Physical attendance of worship leaders only
- Online meetings only
- Church office open on a limited basis
- Guests should call ahead before arriving.
- Masks are required while in the building.
- Church building closed to events and activities
We will still be conducting worship through FCC Live on both Facebook and YouTube. While this might not be as fulfilling as being together in person, we have hopefully all been able to find some comfort through this alternate format. Additionally, we are purchasing an FM transmitter which will allow for our worship services to be broadcast via radio signal to our parking lot and neighborhood. This is becoming a popular trend in our area and will extend the outreach of the church during this time.
Although the doors are still closed, the church is still needing to operate as best as it can under the current circumstances. We are currently experiencing a financial shortfall. Please continue to prayerfully consider your financial contributions to our church as we move through this challenging time.
We will continue to keep you updated as we work through this process. Please pray for your church leaders, our members and friends, and our community!
